We are reigniting trust in effective public sector digitalisation

Archives contain a vast reservoir of data, yet only a fraction is currently digitised. Archives are in the midst of a significant transformation. What will the archive of the future look like? How can it evolve beyond a mere repository of sunken knowledge into an interactive hub for exchange and collaboration? How can state-of-the-art technologies enhance accessibility of knowledge? In collaboration with Bundesdruckerei, we are working on a vision for the future of public archives. Our upcoming report, slated for publication in spring 2024, develops a typology of archives, conducts a market analysis to evaluate the potential of innovative solutions, and offers actionable recommendations to advance effective transformation. Together, we are shaping a future where archives serve as dynamic and accessible resources for all.

When working with the public sector, startups face numerous challenges, including regulatory obstacles, lack of insights into the inner workings of the public sector, and lengthy procedures that hinder collaboration. Nevertheless, there is vast potential for mutually beneficial collaboration between startups and governmental entities. That is why GovStart exists: GovStart is our dedicated startup programme designed to foster fruitful collaboration between startups and the state. Since its inception in 2019, GovStart has supported 43 GovTech startups through our annual community and engagement programme. Our carefully curated programme provides startups with invaluable expertise and expansive networks tailored to successfully scale within the public sector. With GovStart, we are continuously committed to empowering startups driving forward administrative modernisation for a brighter future.

Since 2021, we are proud co-hosts of the annual 'GovTech-Gipfel' in collaboration with Handelsblatt, Germany’s leading national media for financial and business information. The 'GovTech-Gipfel' has become a crucial get-together where innovators from government and the tech scene meet to catalyse the digital transformation of the public sector. With an exclusive audience of 200 in-person attendees and more than 1.000 online participants, the summit emerges as a distinctive forum facilitating dialogue among political figures, technology experts, and administrative leaders. Through thought-provoking keynotes, insightful panels, and in-depth discussions, we rigorously explore the evolving landscape of GovTech and digital administration. The Gipfel has become as a magnet for esteemed guests, including federal ministers, and emerged as a pivotal hub for GovTech thought leaders.
